The clear offshore waters of the Andaman Sea are generally a deep blue. As you come up on shallow waters around the many islands, you get vivid shades of aquamarine, turquoise and emerald green.

Where you get a white coral sand bottom, the water often appears brilliant turquoise smudged with indigo wherever there are submerged coral heads. Around limestone formations, the water can be an intense emerald green.
